Carron Concrete Services was engaged by Dana to Design and Construct a fully integrated Building for this futuristic metal stamping plant. The new building is 1200 square meters in area, 15 meters in height, and a foundation pit  6 meters in depth. The building structure has crane rails for a twin 25 tonne crane of 30 meter bridge span. The site provided challenges  for below ground construction as it is in saturated sand with ground water at 900-mm. Carron Concrete services completed the project on time and on Budget.

Construction of 6 meter deep pit in unstable saturated sand with water table at 1.2 meters below ground level. No worries, we have the solutions as these photos show.

No-water-in-the-pit

No sign of water in pit, the de-watering working fine. After base is poured and cured, the pumps are turned off and the pit was water tight.
